South Club has dropped a new music video for “Hug Me (허그미),” a track off the band’s debut EP set to drop in June. Written by singer-songwriter Nam Taehyun, the former idol leads the band as its frontman and creative mastermind (of sorts). The four and a half minute song is a light and bluesy ballad that, interestingly, brings to mind current from-boyband-to-soloist-as-well, Harry Styles. It sets in motion the tone for South Club’s upcoming foray into South Korea’s rock scene later this summer.
The song also marks the first single from Nam Taehyun since he parted ways with idol boy band WINNER last November. Now, Nam’s running things on his own terms as the head of his new label, South Buyers Club. Talk about a comeback.
